Where Do All Our Vintage Jeans Come From?

Ever wondered where all those incredible vintage jeans and denim pieces at Brag Vintage actually come from? You’re not alone — and while it’s not exactly a secret, the journey these clothes take is pretty fascinating.

Second-Hand & Deadstock Denim

Most of the vintage clothing we sell is second-hand — previously worn, loved, and eventually passed on by its original owner.

But there’s also deadstock — items that were never sold or worn, often tucked away in warehouses and storage for years or even decades. These untouched pieces are like denim time capsules, just waiting to be rediscovered.

The Global Recycling Process

So how does all this denim end up at Brag?

It begins with clothing donations and textile recycling banks around the world. Large textile recycling companies collect clothes through donation networks or buy excess stock from charities. Many charities receive far more clothing than they can display or sell in their shops, so the overflow gets passed on.

Sorting Through the Past

Once collected, the clothing is sorted by trained staff who sift through mountains of garments, looking for vintage gems. They’re picking out classic cuts, in-demand styles, and standout pieces — especially those made with the kind of craftsmanship and materials that stand the test of time.

These vintage finds are then bundled up and sold in bulk to retailers like us.

When the denim arrives at Brag Vintage HQ, we take over.

Every item is hand-sorted, graded, and quality-checked to ensure it meets our standards for style, condition, and authenticity. We’re picky — only the best pieces make it to the shop.

Most of our vintage denim is also machine-washed and refreshed before it reaches our customers, so it arrives looking its best and ready to wear.

Keeping the Cycle Going

What about the items that don’t quite make the cut?

We don’t let them go to waste. Some are reworked into one-of-a-kind designs, giving them a completely new life. Others are donated back to charity, continuing the circular journey of fashion.
